  • Lake of the Praries - Lake of the Prairies was constructed in 1968 by impounding the Assiniboine River near Shellmouth Manitoba. The lake which formed behind this dam is 30 miles long and has a surface area of 15,000 acres. The dam was originally built as a flood control measure but during the last 10 years a high quality walleye fishery has developed. Lake of the Prairies is now considered to be the second largest sport fishery in Manitoba.
  • Manitoba Fly Fishers Association - The mandate of the Manitoba Fly Fishing Association is to encourage conservation-based sport fishing with the artificial fly. We advocate for the preservation of clean waters, effective resource management and sound conservation practices. Members of our association receive extensive information combined with fly fishing skills and communication with other fly fishing national/international associations/clubs.
  • Manitoba Natural Resource Officers' Association - The M.N.R.O.A. is a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining a high standard of professionalism among its members, to promote mutual interests and to increase public awareness of issues and concerns affecting Manitoba's Natural Resources and its officers.
  • Manitoba Water Stewardship Fisheries Branch - Manitoba Fisheries mandate is to ensure sustainable use of the fisheries resource. Management programs are developed to provide the greatest benefits to Manitobans, by maintaining or enhancing fish populations and habitat, monitoring harvest and habitat alterations, and allocating resources for the best return.
  • Manitoba's Recreational Fishing League - Manitoba's Recreational Fishing League is a non-profit group who's goal is to introduce youth to fishing through an organized league similar to hockey, baseball or other recreational activities. These young energetic people, supported by their local communities, will learn the skills of fishing and hopefully leave with a better understanding of the environment around them.
